About Us

In the 1940s, Harold Anthony, Robert, and Emily Anthony, being interested in agriculture, had a farm where they operated a small business growing and selling vegetables. It was always their dream to start a greenhouse. Thanks to their interest in horticulture and agriculture, the greenhouse operation grew to more than eight greenhouses where they provided employment for local neighbors. Because of the high quality of their products; cut flowers, potted plants and bedding plants were trucked to Cape Breton and they provided shipping as far away as Montreal via Air Canada.

In the 1970s, a building in nearby Dayton was purchased and has operated as the commercial retail outlet for 44 years. Soon after, it expanded to stock a full line of lawn and garden equipment as well as a greenhouse, nursery, and landscaping business as well as a wholesale and retail produce business.
